Adventure experience in Glencoe, Scottish Highlands | Amber + Coenraad (Part 3)
Day 2: Amber + Coenraad celebrated their engagement over the course of a 2-day adventure experience whilst visiting the Scottish Highlands. We spent a couple of wonderful days exploring Scotland and on our last day we were adventuring in Glencoe and Glen Etive.
This lovely pair travelled from the Netherlands to adventure in Scotland. Recently engaged they wanted to celebrate their engagement in a meaningful and memorable way.
To celebrate their love and engagement, I helped to craft a unique itinerary for their adventure experience in the Scottish Highlands. On the first day, we facilitated a Celtic handfasting ceremony and explored gorgeous areas like Kilchurn Castle at Loch Awe.
Adventuring in some of the best Glencoe locations
On this day (day 2 of our adventure session) we woke up early in Glencoe at our hostels and headed out to the Glencoe ski lift. Amber + Coen, being so attracted to mountains wanted to take the ski lift up to the top. Unfortunately, after we arrived we found out the lift was down for maintenance. (And received some odd looks by hikers for wearing our finest outfits). Gutted but not defeated, we hopped into the cars to go to Buachaille Etive Mòr.
Buachaille Etive Mòr is one of Scotland’s most iconic mountains – you’ll often find a swarm of landscape photographers battling with tripods for the postcard-perfect position. We tramped through the boggy ground to avoid them and had some lovely private moments dancing in the squelchy mud.
We drove on over to another little epic spot located just before the 3-sisters for some moments overlooking the glen. The joy of photographing in November means it was all pretty quiet. Lucky for us, it was a mild day.
Lastly winding up back at the ski-lift centre for a well-deserved cup of tea! The perfect ending to our couple of days together. We feel like we’ve walked away from this with wonderful friends and even more wonderful memories. For all four of us!
With so many moments of this experience worth sharing, I’ve split this into several blogs to make it easy to see the bits that really interest you!
