Romantic engagement experience at Kilchurn Castle, Scottish Highlands | Amber + Coenraad (Part 1)
Amber + Coenraad celebrated their engagement during a over the course of a 2-day adventure session in the Scottish Highlands. We spent a couple of wonderful days roaming around Glencoe, Loch Awe and Glen Etive.
This wonderful pair travelled from the Netherlands to adventure in Scotland. Recently engaged they wanted to celebrate their engagement in a meaningful and memorable way.
For personal reasons, they aren’t sure if they will be able to have their dream elopement wedding in the mountains. Though they live in one of the flattest countries in the world, their hearts are in the peaks. A true outdoor couple, a little bit of their soul lives in Scotland and they’ve always felt at home here when they’ve visited.
To celebrate their love and engagement, I helped to create an adventure experience in the Scottish Highlands and we facilitated a Celtic handfasting ceremony. Alongside their furry friend Arya, we spent the morning enjoying the sun rise up over Kilchurn Castle at Loch Awe.
We had such an amazing experience, with moments worth sharing that I’ve split this into several blogs to make it easy to see the bits that really interest you!
Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe – a romantic spot for adventures and photos
Adventuring in Bridge of Orchy, Rannoch Moor & Glen Etive
Continuing our adventure, we stopped at a few of the best beauty spots on the route to Glen Coe. Bridge of Orchy has amazing autumnal tree colours, creating a tapestry of green and orange. Rannoch Moor is one of my favourite spots to stop – blink and you’ll miss the parking spot but it’s even worth turning around for! The mirrored water makes the trample through the bog-water worth it!
And finally, we hopped out at the Kinghouse Hotel to say hello to their friend furry friends – the deer. They are big fans of tourists who are all too happy to feed them but they are still wild creatures and we had to be careful.
After this, we headed into Glencoe and performed a romantic handfasting ceremony in the rain and fog. The next part of the story here….
More than a photoshoot in the Scottish Highlands, we can have a wonderful experience exploring Scotland together. If you’re visiting Scotland then why not add some thing a little more unique and personal to your itinerary.
