what is an elopement?

Throw away the idea that elopements are for runaway star-crossed lovers or quick jaunts to Gretna Green. The modern-day elopement is an intentionally small wedding which is a deeply personal and intimate celebration of your love as a couple.

Eloping allows you to create a wedding where you’re free to create a day that is a true reflection of you as a couple. No rules, no expectations, no ‘this is how it’s usually done’. Just your love celebrated your in own way.

eloping might be right for you if you…

  • Love the idea of creating a wedding day free from other people’s expectations
  • Want to create an experience which is focused solely on your story as a couple is important to you
  • Are finding yourself saying ‘we should probably….’ during your wedding planning
  • Imagine your wedding to be an unforgettable unique experience rather than an event
  • Want to be able share your vows with complete intimacy and shared only with those absolutely closest to you
  • Love the idea of being free of constraints – not being herded around on your wedding day

okay, so what’s the craic?

In trying to leave Scottish places in better condition than I found them, a tree will be planted to help re-wild the Caledonian forest for every elopement I photograph.

      questions + answers

Where are you based + where do you cover?

I’m a Scots lass – raised in Edinburgh, a place I’m lucky to still call home. But I photograph elopements + couples all over Scotland – including the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

      How do we book you?

Booking me is simple. After having a wee chat, I’ll send you through a quote alongside an agreement to sign. If everything is right, you’ll be asked to pay a deposit to secure your date with me. Easy peasy.

Why should we have a call before booking you?

I believe it’s really important to vibe with your photographer – because they will be present for one of your life’s biggest moments. You want to know that they will be someone you feel 100% comfy around for the day.

This is why I offer couples a chance to have a casual chat before deciding to book me. As well as sussing me out, you’ll get a chance to ask any questions specific to your day.

What if we don't know how long we'll need?

That’s completely fine – most of my couples aren’t exactly sure how long they will need to start with. During our initial chat we will talk through your thoughts for the day and figure out a package which suits this.

And this package can be amended later if you need more/less hours.

Can you help us with figuring out the details of our day?

Yes! I love nothing more than helping couples with figuring out where they will elope in Scotland and what they will do on the day. I’m here to help along the way.

Do you photograph international or local couples?

Both! I love photographing a mix of people who live in Scotland/UK as well as international couples. (Some of my couples have never been to Scotland before!)

Can we bring friends + family to our elopement?

Absolutely. There is no right or wrong answer about the size of an elopement or intimate wedding (as long as it’s intentionally small). Elopements tend to range from just you two up to 25 people.

How many images do you deliver?

I’m all about choosing quality over quantity. I deliver a carefully considered number of images to tell the full story of our time together whilst giving you a great variety of images to choose from. I won’t hold back great images for the sake of meeting a ‘quota’ or add unnecessary images for the same reason.

You can typically expect to received around 400-700 images depending on the length of time photography and complexity of your day.

When do we receive our photos?

You can expect to receive your photos in 6-8 weeks after your wedding. These will be available to you in a beautiful online gallery – ready to download and share with family + friends.

But don’t worry, you won’t have to wait that long to see any images. I send over a handful of sneak peek images within a few days of your wedding. (I am just as excited as you to see them!)

      Do you offer prints/albums?

Yes! Your online gallery will have links through to buy high-quality prints from my favourite print labs.

      What is your COVID-policy?

It’s a worrisome time to be booking weddings – I understand! I want this to be a stress-free, fair experience so here is how it would work with me.

At the time of booking, I’ll take a non-refundable deposit as I normally would. In the event of a COVID-related cancellation, I’ll first offer you the chance the reschedule your date (no additional fee*).

If your date cannot be rescheduled (or I am unavailable on your new date) then I’ll be happy to refund your deposit less the cost of any time spent working together. For example, time spent working on questionnaires, location suggestions etc.

This hopefully makes things fair for all of us 🙂

      * if rescheduling multiple times an admin fee may apply.
