Ethereal coastal castle elopement near Edinburgh
After months of Zoom calls, emails, and questionnaires planning Jake and Chloe’s coastal castle elopement, there is something so special about seeing couples fully dressed and ready for the adventure ahead. We love seeing how every little decision has come together!
This is even more momentous on those rare occasions where we haven’t been present for a couple’s getting ready moments. It almost feels like it’s own first look – a grand unveiling after months of communicating! (Especially as most times we’ve never met in person beforehand).
Needless to say, when I saw Chloe + Jake for the first time in real life in their jaw-dropping outfits, I was feeling the excitement right along with them! (How amazing do they look!?) I especially loved the ethereal romantic veil that Chloe wore – complementing the dreamy floaty fabric of her dress which made it feel like she stepped back in time.
We headed out to the coast for a magical few hours together
The couple chose quality over quantity, which was a wonderful reminder that a magical elopement doesn’t always need a lot of time, just intention.
We explored sites that are nothing short of enchanting, which is exactly what this couple hoped for. We visited clifftop castle ruins, dramatic scenery, hidden ivy-covered ruins, and a mill reminiscent of a witch’s cottage, all with a moody stormy sunset as a backdrop.
Handmade sea-inspired rituals added an extra touch of meaning
Their celebrant, Fiona Stewart, with an artist’s eye for beauty and a deep understanding of Scottish symbolism and rituals, prepared a beautiful elopement ceremony filled with ancient rituals and her handmade sea-inspired details. I love seeing how Fiona weaves place and history into her ceremonies.
It was as if time expanded, and four short hours together seemed to last forever
Chloe + Jake chose my 4-hour elopement package and their evening reminded me of how many special places there are within easy reach of Edinburgh. And how, if you choose the right location, you can still enjoy some of the diversity you might see from longer, far-flung adventures. It was a beautiful evening and I think we all came away beaming!
I cannot sing Raini’s praises enough. From planning to execution our entire experience with her was easy breezy beautiful. She’s so knowledgeable of locations and vendors that she pretty much acted as a planner for our elopement as well. Her artistic eye is impeccable and her photography style is so dreamy, you’ll look and feel as if you were in a fairytale. On the day Raini made us feel so at ease and relaxed and that really comes through in the photos. All around 10000/10 experience!!!!
